In Quantico a replacement is priced one unit at a time, house or apartment
The air station’s 1991 to 2020 normals show 4,002 heating degree days and 1,512 cooling degree days a year, a January average low of 28 and a July average high of 88. Both halves of a system work real seasons here. A furnace and a condenser that went in the same year have worn on the same schedule, and when both are old, replacing them together makes it one project.
More than half the Town’s 370 homes sit in duplexes and small apartment buildings, where each unit usually has its own pair: a furnace or air handler in a closet, a condenser on a pad outside. An owner with several units of the same age is looking at several aging pairs. Ask for each unit as its own written line, with both halves’ ages read from the tags, so the oldest goes first.
In a house from before 1940, the ductwork came decades after the walls. County address records date at least nine of the 13 homes on 5th Avenue to before 1940. A new pair set onto the old duct path performs like the old one, so the tech measures the airflow in the rooms first and says in writing if the ducts, not the equipment, are the trouble.
Where the new condenser goes matters on this stretch of the river. The air station recorded gusts of 58 mph in February 2015 and 59 mph in February 2017, and a tree came down on Fuller Road in an August 2021 thunderstorm. Set the pad clear of overhanging limbs, with room for air around it, and the next blow has less to throw at it.
What a new furnace and AC costs in Quantico.
$8,898 to $23,000 installed for a furnace and air conditioner replaced together, 2 to 5 ton, from the same price book as our estimator. Where you land depends on the size of the house, the efficiency you pick, and what the ductwork and venting need.
- Furnace and AC together, installed$8,898 to $23,000
- Furnace alone, keeping your AC$4,285 to $14,040
- Heat pump system instead$8,499 to $21,650
The HVAC replacement estimator gives your house its own number. Then we measure, and the price is in writing before anything is ordered.
Two years of labor come with every install. Monthly plans are on our financing page.
When replacing both makes sense in Quantico.
The furnace tag and the condenser tag show the same year
If the tags on the furnace and the outdoor unit give the same year and one half fails, the other has worked the same seasons. A repair on one half is a fair moment to get the pair priced, so you choose the timing instead of the next failure choosing it.
The outdoor unit runs on R-22
The label on its side names the refrigerant. R-22 hasn’t been made or imported in the US since 2020, so a leak gets expensive. Replace it on your schedule, not in July.
A big repair on an old system
A compressor or heat exchanger on a system past 15 years deserves a replacement price beside it, and you’ll get both numbers.

How to pick who replaces your furnace and AC in Quantico.
Ask every company that quotes the job, us included.
In a small building, is every unit on its own line of the quote?
Ask for one written line per unit, showing the age of both halves. A building with several pairs of the same age seldom needs them all at once, and separate lines let the owner pick the order. If a unit is only acting up, the diagnostic visit is $99 and tells you whether repair or replacement is the better path.
Do they size it to the house, or copy the old label?
The old size is a guess somebody made years ago. Ask whether they measure the house and check the ductwork first. Too big short cycles; too small runs all afternoon in August.
Is the whole job in the written price?
Furnace, outdoor unit, matching coil, refrigerant lines, thermostat, permit and hauling the old one away. If it isn’t on the paper, ask.
Already holding another company’s quote?
Our free second opinion looks at the system you were quoted on and tells you what it actually needs, with our price if you want it.
What our customers say.
I would highly recommend SwiftPro for an HVAC replacement. The sales process was straightforward and fair and the installation was done to my satisfaction in a timely and complete manner (and I’m pretty demanding). Great job!

Furnace and AC replacement questions from Quantico.
I live on Marine Corps Base Quantico. Do you replace furnaces and AC there?
No. Liberty Military Housing owns, manages and maintains the family housing aboard the base, so a dead furnace or air conditioner goes to Liberty or the base Family Housing Office. Prince William County says it doesn’t serve federal property. Houses and apartments in the Town of Quantico are the ones we price.
My house heats with oil. What are my options?
We don’t work on oil burners, but moving off one is ours to price. On the heat pump side the figure is $8,499 to $21,650 installed; a furnace on gas or propane paired with a new air conditioner comes to $8,898 to $23,000. Nearly two in ten of the Town’s owner homes heat with oil, by a small Census sample, so ask for both prices side by side.
How much does a new furnace and AC cost in Quantico?
$8,898 to $23,000 installed for the pair, by size and efficiency. A furnace alone, keeping your AC, is $4,285 to $14,040. The HVAC replacement estimator gives your house its own number.
Do I have to replace both at the same time?
No. If the AC is young and only the furnace failed, replace the furnace. If they’re the same age, do both: a new outdoor unit needs a matched coil, and one built for the old refrigerant isn’t rated for the new one.
