Trane AC Replacement Day: A New Condenser on the Pallet
A Trane AC replacement starts with the new condenser on a pallet in the yard. In this short clip a SwiftPro tech stands behind it, red hand truck beside him, after pulling the old Trane unit out.

What you’re seeing in this video
It's an eight-second intro. A SwiftPro tech in a grey cap and black polo stands behind a new Trane outdoor unit, badge facing the camera, still sitting on its wooden pallet in the side yard. He explains that the old Trane came out today and this one goes in.
A red hand truck waits next to the pallet, and two SwiftPro vans are parked out front of the brick colonial. Next stop for that unit is the pad, then the line set, the wiring and a vacuum before the first startup.
Why it matters in your house
- Replacing a Trane with a Trane isn't required. What matters more is matching the new outdoor unit to a compatible indoor coil so the system reaches its rated efficiency.
- Side yards are tight. Ask where the new unit will sit and how much clearance it'll have, since a cramped condenser runs hotter and wears faster.
- If your old unit dates from the 2000s, it likely runs on R-22 or early R-410A. New systems use newer refrigerants, which is part of why the indoor coil usually gets replaced too.
Should I replace my old Trane AC with another Trane?
You can, and Trane builds a solid unit, but the brand matters less than the install. Sizing it to your house, matching the indoor coil, a proper vacuum and the right charge decide how long it lasts. A good contractor will show you a couple of options and explain the differences honestly.
