What you’re seeing in this video
Tyler Griffin, owner of SwiftPro, talks to camera from the front seat of a moving car, seat belt on, in his black SwiftPro polo. No equipment, no job site, just a local business owner on why he's glad to live here.
He counts off five reasons. Lots of opportunity. Lots of cultures, and the food that comes with them. Green space and trees everywhere. And on a really hot summer day, a 30 to 60 minute drive puts you in the mountains for fresh air and a hike.
Why do I love living in Northern Virginia? Number one, lots of opportunity. Number two, lots of cultures. Number three, lots of awesome food from all these amazing cultures.
Number four, lots of green spaces. We have trees everywhere. I love that. And number five, we're only a short drive from the mountains to get out for fresh air and hiking.
When it's really hot in the summertime, you can drive out in 30, 45 or an hour and you can be out there hiking in the mountains and enjoying some fresh air. Northern Virginia is awesome.
Why it matters in your house
- All those trees come with a chore: leaves, seeds and cottonwood fluff collect on outdoor AC coils. Rinse the coil gently each spring and keep a couple of feet clear around the unit.
- Northern Virginia summers are hot and humid, which is hard on AC drains and coils. A spring tune-up is the local habit worth keeping.
- SwiftPro's owner and techs live in the same counties they work in, so the company answering your call is one you'll see around town.
What's it like living in Northern Virginia?
Busy, diverse and green. You get jobs and culture close to DC, food from just about everywhere, and parks and trees in every town. Summers run hot and humid, winters bring a few real freezes, and the Blue Ridge is close enough for a day trip. Your house needs both a good AC and a reliable furnace.
