Is Amana a good brand? For furnaces, air conditioners and heat pumps, yes, and it isn’t the same company as the Amana fridge. Goodman sold the appliance business to Maytag in 2001 and kept the Amana name for heating and cooling; today Amana HVAC is made under license by Daikin, which owns Goodman. The top Amana furnace, the ARVM97, is rated 97% AFUE, modulates, and uses a stainless steel primary heat exchanger. A furnace and AC we install runs $8,898 to $23,000. From about $148 a month at 0% APR for 60 months, the whole price financed, on approved credit.

Amana’s big warranty, and its fine print
Amana’s premium furnaces (the ARVM97 and ARVT96) carry a 10-year unit replacement: if the heat exchanger fails in the first 10 years, Daikin replaces the whole furnace once. Three conditions, in Amana’s own certificate: you named a licensed contractor for yearly maintenance when you registered, the furnace got that maintenance every year, and you kept written records of it.
Miss any one of the three and you’re back to the regular terms: 20 years on the heat exchanger and 10 on parts when registered within 60 days, or 10 and 5 if it was never registered. Older Amana spec sheets online still say “lifetime”; the October 2026 certificates say 20 years.
The records are the part people lose. Our Comfort+ membership ($199 a year) books the heating and cooling maintenance visits and keeps the records.
Amana vs Goodman
Same company, Daikin. Amana is the step up: a stainless steel primary heat exchanger where Goodman’s 90%+ furnaces use aluminized steel, and a 10-year unit replacement where Goodman’s is 5. Our repair prices are the same for both.
Amana questions people ask us
Is Amana HVAC the same as Amana appliances?
No. Goodman sold Amana’s appliance business to Maytag in 2001 and kept the Amana name for heating and cooling. Amana HVAC is made under license by Daikin.
Who makes Amana furnaces?
Daikin, which bought Goodman in 2012. Amana, Goodman and Daikin heating and cooling are one company.
Does Amana have a lifetime warranty?
Not on its current furnace certificates. They give 20 years on the heat exchanger when registered within 60 days, and the premium models add a 10-year unit replacement if the furnace is maintained every year by a licensed contractor and you keep the records.
Do you repair Amana?
Yes. The diagnostic is $99, and the Amana repair page has the common repairs and their prices.
