The house won’t heat
Check the thermostat, the breaker, the furnace switch and the filter first.
Still cold? Most no-heat calls end in an igniter, a flame sensor or a control board. Heating repair, explained.
An HVAC service call is $99 for the diagnostic visit, and a seasonal tune-up is $99 per system. Every repair is priced in writing before the technician starts it, on every brand of furnace, heat pump, air conditioner, boiler and ductless mini split.

Furnace and AC together, when a repair stops making sense. HVAC replacement.
Monthly figures: 60mo @ 0% APR on each starting price, the whole price financed, on approved credit. Longer plans lower the payment and cost more in total. The lender sets the final terms. How financing works
Every kind of visit, priced and explained: what HVAC service costs, and this month’s deals on the offers page.
Holding someone else’s quote? Our free second opinion: a technician looks at the system you were quoted on and tells you what it actually needs.
What we service
One call covers all of it. Pick what you need for its own page and prices.
How the call goes
Often same-day, and we will tell you honestly when we can get there. We run 24/7 emergency service.
Day or night. Tell us what it’s doing and we set up the visit.
The technician checks the whole system, not just the part you noticed: the equipment, the thermostat, the filter, the drain and the electrical.
Before anything is replaced. Approve it or don’t, and if a repair isn’t worth making on an old system, you hear that too.
The repair, then a full run, so you know it holds before we leave.
Tune-ups
Twice a year: the heat in the fall, the cooling in the spring. One tune-up covers one system.

This time of year

When to call
What people describe on the phone, and what it usually turns out to be. A technician confirms it.
Check the thermostat, the breaker, the furnace switch and the filter first.
Still cold? Most no-heat calls end in an igniter, a flame sensor or a control board. Heating repair, explained.
On a heat pump, a few minutes of it on a frosty morning is defrost, and that’s normal.
An hour of it isn’t. Heat pump repair.
A frozen coil, a dirty outdoor coil, a failed capacitor or low refrigerant, in about that order.
A run capacitor runs $240 to $370. AC repair.
Almost always the condensate drain: the line clogs and the pan overflows.
Clearing it, with a trap and a float switch added, runs $175 to $420.
A dirty flame sensor, a thermostat in the wrong spot, or a system too big for the house.
A flame sensor cleaned runs $95 to $180; a thermostat replaced, $300 to $640.
A dusty smell the first time the heat runs each fall is dust burning off, and it fades.
A hot electrical smell, a squeal or a grind isn’t: turn the system off at the thermostat and call.

We had SwiftPro come out for a checkup on our furnace. They gave it a thorough check and thankfully it was in good shape. We also asked about replacing an existing inefficient humidifier on the furnace and they proposed a better solution.…
Moises and Oscar from SwiftPro were on-time, professional, and explained in detail the process of what needed to be done with regards my HVAC system and the plumbing situation at home. I'm glad they were able to locate the issue (low pressures in the refrigerant line)…
…Moises found the problem quickly (When I had already had another contractor out to try and find the issue but they couldn't) and kept me updated on his findings.…

The diagnostic visit is $99: a technician finds the fault and prices the fix in writing before starting it. Most repairs we price run $95 to $2,400, from a flame sensor cleaned ($95 to $180) to a blower motor ($670 to $2,400). Comfort+ members get the diagnostic visit included.
$99 per system. One tune-up covers one furnace, heat pump, air conditioner, boiler or ductless system, so a house with a furnace and an AC books one each season. Comfort+ members get both seasonal visits included.
Twice a year in a house with heat and air: the heating in the fall, the cooling in the spring. A heat pump does both jobs, so it gets both visits. That is the schedule ENERGY STAR recommends too.
On a heating visit: burners, igniter, flame sensor and heat exchanger on a gas furnace, the defrost and backup heat on a heat pump, the electrical, the thermostat, and the airflow and temperature rise measured. On a cooling visit: the outdoor coil, the refrigerant pressures, the capacitor and contactor, and the drain line. Anything we flag is photographed and written down. The full checklist.
Yes. We run 24/7 emergency service. Often same-day, and we will tell you honestly when we can get there. If you smell gas, leave the house first and call Washington Gas or 911 from outside, then call us.
Yes: Trane, Carrier, Rheem, Lennox, Goodman, American Standard and the rest, gas and propane furnaces, heat pumps, air conditioners, hot water boilers and ductless mini splits. Brands we work on.
Comfort+ is $199 a year: a heating maintenance visit every fall, a cooling maintenance visit every spring, the diagnostic visit included, 15% off any service, and half of each repair bill banked toward replacing that system, up to $1,500. It also covers a dryer vent cleaning and a water heater flush with a sewer camera inspection.
Repair a young system. Past 15 years, on R-22, or facing a refrigerant leak or a failed compressor, put the repair price next to a new system’s: furnace and AC together run $8,898 to $23,000 installed. We’ll price both and say which we’d pick. From about $148 a month at 0% APR for 60 months, the whole price financed, on approved credit. How financing works
Yes, for offices, restaurants, churches and rental properties. Commercial HVAC.
