Written October 2026, with Prince William County’s permit pages, the Census and every review platform read the same month.

A new furnace and air conditioner in Woodbridge runs $8,898 to $23,000 installed, depending on the size of the house and the equipment you pick. From about $148 a month at 0% APR for 60 months, the whole price financed, on approved credit. That’s our Northern Virginia price book, posted on our Woodbridge furnace and AC page before anyone comes out.

Woodbridge is one of the busiest towns on our schedule, and more of our Woodbridge calls end in a full system replacement than in most towns we serve. So this guide is mostly about that: when to repair and when to replace, what decides the price, the permit Prince William County wants (and the swaps it doesn’t), and what to check about any company before it touches your system.

In Woodbridge most weekdays

Our shop is on Lafayette Center Drive in Chantilly. Our crews spend their days out across Northern Virginia, and Woodbridge gets a lot of those days: our heating and cooling team is there most weekdays, in all three Woodbridge ZIP codes, 22191, 22192 and 22193, from Leesylvania and Potomac Mills to Lake Ridge and Dale City. The work is done by our own HVAC team, separate from our plumbers.

Each service we do in Woodbridge has its own page, and every one opens with the price: furnace and AC replacement, furnace replacement, heat pump replacement, AC replacement, AC repair and furnace repair. The rest is on our Woodbridge page.

Repair or replace, in a Woodbridge house

Across Woodbridge, Lake Ridge and Dale City it’s mostly houses: nearly half of the homes are detached and more than a quarter are townhouses, with condos and apartments about one in six. About two in three went up between 1960 and 1999. Gas heats more than half of owner-occupied homes, with about four in ten on electricity (Census: homes by type, year built, heating fuel).

The rule we use on a repair call: under about eight years old, repair almost anything. Past about fourteen, a compressor, a heat exchanger or a reversing valve is replacement money, and that’s the time to put a replacement price beside the repair price before you decide. In between, it depends on the part and the shape of the rest of the system. Repair vs replace your AC has the longer version.

Our Woodbridge heating repair guide goes ZIP code by ZIP code, with what each repair costs.

What a new system costs in Woodbridge

Installed prices from our price book for 2 to 5 ton systems, the same numbers our HVAC estimator works from. The size of the house, the efficiency you pick, and what the ductwork and venting need decide where you land.

The job Installed Or monthly
Furnace and AC replaced together $8,898 to $23,000 $148/mo at 0% APR for 60 months
Furnace alone, keeping your AC $4,285 to $14,040 $71/mo at 0% APR for 60 months
Heat pump system $8,499 to $21,650 $142/mo at 0% APR for 60 months

Monthly figures: 60mo @ 0% APR on each starting price, the whole price financed, on approved credit. Longer plans lower the payment and cost more in total. The lender sets the final terms.

The estimator gives your house its own number in about two minutes. Then one of our technicians measures, and the price is in writing before anything is ordered. Two years of our labor come with every install, and five or ten are available. Here’s how financing works.

Our reviews, low ones included

Counted across every platform we’re on, we’re rated 5.0 stars across 1,132 reviews on Google, Angi, Yelp, the BBB and Facebook. The lowest of them is Yelp, at 4.4 stars, about one in twenty of the total, and it’s in the count on purpose. A number that leaves out the hard site isn’t the whole number.

Each platform’s rating, its count and the date it was read are at swiftproreviews.com, and the reviews themselves are on our reviews page. Read the low ones before you decide.

What to check about any Woodbridge HVAC company

  1. The license. Look the company up on DPOR’s License Lookup. The name should match your estimate, the license should be active, and it should cover HVAC. Ours is Virginia Class A 2705192276, printed on the side of our vans.
  2. The permit. Woodbridge is in Prince William County, and the County’s rule splits by fuel: replacing a gas furnace always takes a permit, while swapping a heat pump, an electric furnace or an air conditioner’s outdoor unit for the same type in the same spot doesn’t, and neither does a repair with replacement parts. Moving equipment, an upgrade that needs electrical, plumbing or mechanical changes, or any alteration to the heating and cooling system takes one. The permit holder is responsible for the work, so ask whose name goes on it.
  3. Every line in writing. The AC or heat pump’s size in tons and its SEER2 rating, the furnace’s size and efficiency, the coil, the thermostat, the permit, hauling the old equipment away, and the years of labor. A lower total that leaves off the coil or the permit isn’t lower. How to read an HVAC replacement estimate goes line by line.
  4. Reviews on every platform, not one site’s worth. Our HVAC contractor guide covers the rest, including insurance and the written contract.

Woodbridge HVAC questions, answered straight

Does SwiftPro serve Woodbridge, VA?

Yes, all three Woodbridge ZIP codes, 22191, 22192 and 22193, with our own heating and cooling team. Woodbridge is one of the busiest towns on our schedule, and we’re there most weekdays. Our Woodbridge page lists every service with its price.

How much does a new HVAC system cost in Woodbridge?

A furnace and air conditioner replaced together runs $8,898 to $23,000 installed. A furnace alone runs $4,285 to $14,040, and a heat pump system $8,499 to $21,650. From about $148 a month at 0% APR for 60 months, the whole price financed, on approved credit. Where you land depends on the size of the house, the efficiency you pick, and the ductwork and venting.

Isn’t Chantilly a long way from Woodbridge?

The shop is in Chantilly. The crews spend their days out on jobs, and Woodbridge is one of the busiest towns on our schedule: our heating and cooling team is there most weekdays.

Do I need a permit to replace my furnace in Woodbridge?

For a gas furnace, yes: Prince William County requires a permit to replace one. Swapping a heat pump or an air conditioner’s outdoor unit for the same type in the same spot doesn’t need one. Moving equipment or changing the system does.

Should I repair or replace my HVAC system?

Under about eight years old, repair almost anything. Past about fourteen, a compressor, a heat exchanger or a reversing valve is replacement money. On a call like that, get the replacement price beside the repair price before you decide.

Why is SwiftPro’s Yelp rating lower than its Google rating?

Yelp is a small slice of our reviews, about one in twenty, and it filters hard. It’s our lowest score at 4.4, and we count it in our total anyway. Every platform’s number and the date it was read are on our reviews page.

Is SwiftPro licensed and insured?

Yes. Virginia Class A contractor license 2705192276, licensed and insured, BBB Accredited with an A rating. We’re a Trane Comfort Specialist, Carrier experts, a Rheem Pro Partner and a Mitsubishi Electric Diamond Contractor.

Can I pay for a new system monthly?

Yes. From about $148 a month at 0% APR for 60 months, the whole price financed, on approved credit. Longer plans lower the payment and cost more in total. Here’s how financing works.

Who is the best HVAC company in Woodbridge?

The one that will put a repair price and a replacement price side by side, shows you its license and every review, and pulls the permit in its own name when the job needs one. Run the four checks above on anyone, us included.

Built to take a beating. Put in by our crew.

See your Woodbridge price

Run every check above on us. The license is 2705192276, the reviews are on our reviews page, and the Woodbridge prices are on our Woodbridge furnace and AC page. Then the HVAC estimator gives your house its own installed price in about two minutes, and you can book a visit from the same page.

Need a repair or a tune-up rather than a new system? Our HVAC service page has those prices. And if you’re choosing a company for another town, we’ve written the same guide for Reston, Herndon, Sterling, Ashburn, Centreville, Alexandria and Arlington.
